Green Makeover for your Bedroom

We spend 1/3 of our life in bed so it's very important to make our bedroom comfortable, healthy and non-toxic.

Pillow. The Green Science Policy Institute recommends choosing pillows made from polyester, down, wool (a naturally flame retardant fabric), or cotton.

Mattress. Look for matresses that are made with non-toxic materials like wool, latex foam, unbleached cotton and other organic cotton fabrics.

When shopping for paints, choose natural or organic paints, "VOC-free" or paints that emit fewer fumes "LOW-VOC".

Furniture. Look for furnitures that are made from natural solid hardwood or reclaimed wood that are finished with low voc's coatings and finishes.
