Customer Testimonial

Our drapes arrived last week and we were delighted with them. The quality of material, the workmanship, and the general appearance was outstanding. More importantly, we have compared prices with local custom drapery stores and found your prices to be 50 to 60 percent below their costs. Customer Service was extremely helpful in getting us samples and your emails were very informative. I was amazed by how fast we received our drapes once the order was placed. You are a first class organization and I have, and will continue, to let people know of your store. Thank you very much.

Transform Your Room For Less

Sometimes making dramatic changes to the look of a room by re-decorating can be expensive. However, one way to easily transform or update your décor on a budget is to change the drapes or curtains. You will be surprised at the dramatic difference new drapes can make to freshen up your home. Creativity and knowing where to go for the best quality and price can also make this an easy and inexpensive project.

Begin by deciding if you will use the existing hardware (rods) or would you like to replace them with something more modern. Oftentimes, you can use the same rods in a different way to alter their appearance. For example, you can take a stationary rod/pole (non-traversing) with curtains on it and simply add designer ring clips. This will allow you to use a classic pinch pleated drape on the rod and save money to put towards other drapes. Adding a second rod behind your existing hardware will permit the use of a sheer drape or curtain as an economic way to change your window treatments. Or, purchase cost effective standard heavy duty traverse rods in a neutral off-white color that blends in nicely with practically all styles of furnishings. In many cases, the rod can be covered with a new valance leaving you the perfect reason to keep your existing rods.

Choosing a drape or curtain style to suit your environment should be exciting. With the number of options available, it is easy to get carried away with trendy brick-a-brack window treatments that can leave your windows over dressed and your pocket book empty. Pick classic styles such as pinch pleated or tab top drapes and add a stunning valance to define the style of a room. If you want to create a more formal look, include a pinch pleated sheer that can be opened and closed to create an airy look as well as adding privacy. Finish with simple tie backs in the same fabric as the drapes to hold the drapes or curtains back away from the window.

Many times, a valance with your existing window treatments will highlight the drape or curtain and “top” it off adding a perfect frame to your view. If you have mixed types of window coverings in a room, valances on all of the windows also provides continuity to really bring the room together.

The most important way to save money on home improvement projects is to buy directly from the manufacturer. Often, their websites offer free tools and ideas to help you pick the perfect options. Purchasing directly from the factory ensures you are getting wholesale prices without costly mark-ups. You can receive the highest quality by purchasing American made products.

The total impact of your drapes, curtains, and window coverings can be very enriching and add the perfect finishing touch to your décor. Doing it for less will enrich your bank account too! Buying direct from the factory or manufacturer will also save you the costly 50-80% mark-up many retail stores and decorators add onto the product cost.

Testimonials from Our Customers

Wonderful product, service, and price! I bought 3 sets of lined Capri drapes, each 126" wide. Samples arrived promptly, good follow-up from company, and customer service went out of their way way to help me choose and order the perfect drapes. When they arrived (promptly), they were neatly pleated and wrapped, so that they hung perfectly right out of the package, with no steaming or pressing needed, and the hooks were already in place. I can't say enough good things about Factory Direct Drapes and their outlet, Factory Bargain Drapes.

Almost a year ago I contacted Factory Direct Drapes and receive a sample (Sateen Light Blue). I could not order at that time, and when I looked at your web site that material did not show up. I contacted sales & support, and they took time to look in the warehouse and found enough material for my order. We placed the order on the phone, and unbelievable my drapes arrived in three days. We are extremely happy with the quality and the workmanship. Your company to customer relationship is remarkable. Please extend a WELL DONE to all that had a part in this. I will gladly recommend your services. I expect to place another order shortly.

- Richard M. in Fallon, Nevada

I am amazed at the quality at the low price I paid. I expected something that would be “kinda o.k.” and would make do at that price. Kudos to your Company. Rest assured I will be telling all my friends about the value they can find by shopping with you. I am the first one to complain when I am disappointed - after all I am a grouchy old man but....I pride myself in also passing on praise when it is deserved. Thank you.

Layers of Charm

Introduce layers of charm to your windows by utilizing fabric options, rods, valances and panels. You can really give your window a complete and a stylish decorator’s touch. What statement do you want your draperies to make?

Do you want your room to be casual and comfortable? For a tranquil feel, try putting cotton blended fabrics on the windows. For the relaxed look you desire, the balloon and halo valances lend themselves to a more casual atmosphere. The rod pocket and tie top draperies would help to create this laid back mood.

Do you want a more sleek statement of urban chic and contemporary elegance? Then our suggestion would be grommet top draperies with a stylish, clean-lined decorative rod. There are stylish synthetic blends that have a slight sheen that give the draperies a hip-chic look.

Or how about a room that is timeless and elegantly classic? We’d suggest pinch-pleated draperies that hang from ceiling to floor. This would exaggerate the ceiling height and give your room the statement of refined glamour. Jacquard’s, Chenille’s, and Moiré’s are fabrics that will give the dramatic statement.

By adding ornate hardware and pinch-pleated valances your stately room can be a vision of enchantment. Express your own creativity and design the best window for the mood you want to create. For timeless, elegant styles and superior quality, choose a website where you can buy direct from the factory and save hundreds of dollars per window.

Fabric Choices for Draperies

An important question to ask when choosing draperies is: Which fabric really is right for my window? The fabric you choose for your draperies will set the style and mood of the room. Different fabrics will produce and provide different results. We will go through some different fabrics and the qualities they possess.

Nylon is versatile, elastic and light weight. This fabric has been around since the 1940’s and has since come along way. Sheers are usually made from this fabric. Sheers hung alone or with draperies create a free flowing romantic atmosphere.

Rayon is an example of a versatile fabric. This fabric possesses many of the great qualities of cotton, it definitely wrinkles less than linen and can provide the same sleek texture of silk for much less the cost. Rayon blends well with other fibers lie: cotton, linen, and acetate to create damasks, satins, brocades as well as velvets.

Polyester should not be discounted just because of the double knit phase of the 1950s. This fabric hangs well, resists creasing, shrinking and stretching along with being wrinkle and rot resistant. Polyester is a very care free fabric. Also it blends well with other fabrics and is affordable.

Acrylic is a fine, soft and luxurious fabric that will surprise you. Light weight and durable, this fabric is non-allergenic and will not fade or rot. Acrylic does not tolerate heat. Mod-acrylic fabrics are flame resistant. Fire retardant draperies are required by the California State Fire Marshall to be placed in certain public facilities such as government buildings.
