Eco-Friendly Nursery for your Baby
Your baby’s body is growing and developing so he/she is more vulnerable to the effects of toxic chemicals. Make a beautiful room for your baby without compromising on safety:
Paint. Your baby’s lungs are still developing months after birth so make sure you choose natural or organic paints, “VOC-free” or paints that emit fewer toxic emissions from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) for all the surfaces of your nursery or child’s room. Some of these VOCs are carcinogenic or toxic and have been fingered for contributing to respiratory distress and many childhood disorders.
Bedding. Make sure your baby is getting a comfy and healthy sleep by choosing linens and pillows made of 100% organic cotton, hemp or natural silk. These materials are not only hypoallergenic and soft, they are also free from pesticides, chemicals and other allergens that can irritate your baby’s skin.
Drapes and Curtains. Choose eco-friendly drapes and curtains for your baby’s nursery. Many imported ready-made drapes and curtains emit toxic smell caused by VOCs. None of the eco-friendly and natural drape fabrics we offer at FactoryDirectDrapes.com were subjected to harsh chemical treatments or harmful dyes during the processing or finishing of the fabric. Our line of eco-friendly fabrics include 100% organic cotton, hemp and recycled fabrics and come in a variety of colors.
Furniture. Look for baby furnitures that are made from natural solid hardwood or reclaimed wood that are finished with low VOC's coatings and finishes. Your new baby will sleep an average of 15 hours per day so it’s very important to choose a crib that’s not only comfortable but safe from toxic materials.
Toys. Certain chemicals in baby and kids toys may be harmful and are linked to learning and developmental disabilities. Before you buy toys for your baby, find out more information on which toys are safe and which aren’t.
