The scarf valance is a free form yet graceful window treatment. The scarf is the most versatile of the valances because of the hardware. Buying multiples of the same valance, but in different colors, textures and patterns can offer a fresh face lift to your interior without an expensive redecorating. These soft valances will easily slip on and off your existing hardware allowing you to vary the color and style of your room. When shopping on the Internet, look for a company that is known for their excellent craftsmanship, high quality and lasting durability. Buying direct from the factory can save you up to 80% off of retail prices. It is so easy to have a designer look without the designer price tag.

Feng Shui and Color

In creating a Zen-inspired home, one needs to understand the principles of Feng Shui when it comes to color. Colors have very different effects on people. Different colors will have different results on people’s mental behavior. For example a bright, too happy, yellow room makes some people irritated and fussy. However, a room that has low, but efficient light and deep, rich, earthy tones tend to be very soothing and relaxing.

Being in tune with how your emotions react to colors is a beginning to the first step in having Zen-balanced home. Do dark colors relax you or make you feel depressed? Do light colors make you feel uplifted or just plain annoyed? How about extreme colors? Do you feel exhilarated or aggravated? These are all very good questions to ask yourself when choosing any color for your room.

Keep in mind of others who may live in this space too. Is there a room where people tend to fight, think about the color in that room? Bright or extreme colors can raise the metabolism and can cause one to be grumpy and irritated. Deeply dark and dank colors can put one in a bad mood. Of course color is not the only thing that causes negative interactions, but by paying close attention to it you can see the subtle influences it does have. Color is part of the Feng Shui way. This important information will help you in making the right decision for your emotional health and well being. The Internet has a selection of beautiful, luxurious fabrics in rich combinations of colors, styles and textures. Buying direct from the factory will save you hundreds of dollars per window if you know where to look.
